While you might have been busy relaxing this summer, I’ve been busy working – and I LOVE every minute of it!
Getting to do what you love really makes all the difference on these long summer days. The busyness of summer brings to mind other summers spent with Paws & Claws Photography’s wonderful clients.
One of my favorite shoots from summers past involved (not surprisingly) puppies – eight of them to be exact. Joined by their mom and dad, these German Shepherds really made for an incredible photo session – and beautiful portraits too!
The result of an accidental litter, my client found loving homes for each of the gorgeous Shepherd pups.
Before they left to be with their new furever families, she scheduled this session with me so that she could remember each of the puppies and their unique look and personality – and to capture all of the fun puppies bring to life.
And we definitely had fun!
My client had a beautiful porch on her property, so we used that as the backdrop for our photos. While the scenery easily cooperated, unfortunately the puppies didn’t, which meant much of our time was spent trying to get them all sitting together!
Rather than using a basket or a trunk (which might have kept the puppies a little more still), my client wanted a more natural look – and pictures where you could really see each of the puppies.
I willingly accepted the challenge because I knew the result really would be spectacular.
All you need is one great shot to make it all worthwhile!
At the time of the shoot, the puppies were already eight weeks old, which, being German Shepherds, meant that they were already pretty big.
I did what I could to photograph as many of them as I could together, but then I also took photos of the puppies individually too.
Using the magic of Photoshop, I was able to merge the individual photos of the (shall we say, overenthusiastic) puppies together in the larger group photo to create an absolutely stunning shot of the whole Shepherd family.
