I’m not a scientist, but I’m pretty certain there is no stronger gravitational pull than that allure of a new puppy. Try as you might, you just.can’t.resist! Maybe that’s just me. But if you’re reading this, I don’t think that’s the case. And no, this is not an announcement of a new fur baby for our family. It is however, my long overdue spotlight on my sweet boy Stig.
Stig is one of my three Schnauzer puppies. Actually, they aren’t exactly puppies anymore, but I still think of them that way. Stig was our accidental surprise – every family has one! We weren’t planning on getting three puppies, but a friend of mine wound up with an accidental litter called me to see if I might want one another to add to my Schnauzer brood. Remember, the gravitational pull? I couldn’t resist.
Stig is my only Schauzer with unclipped ears. It took a while for me to get used to that natural look, but it’s really grown on me, it adds to his unique personality. However, it still makes me laugh how each morning, when he wakes up, he shakes his head and Corey and I are awoken to the sound of his ears flapping. It’s our own alarm clock, promptly followed by a bunch of licks. He’s a kisser, and a bit of a goofball.
He’s also the smallest of the gang. But his personality more than makes up for his diminutive stature. He holds his own with his sisters. Despite the fact that he’s smaller and looks a little different, he does not get pushed around.
Isn’t it fascinating when you take a step back and look at the personalities of your pets? They really have unique qualities and make them as different as each human. I love that with our four dogs, two kitties, bunny, and all of the horses, I’m surrounded by such loving and quirky personalities. I don’t understand people who don’t love animals. Because quite honestly, animals are my kind of people!
